Brit to be extradited to Australia

BANKOK, Thailand, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- A British national living in Thailand will be extradited to Australia to face money-laundering and drug charges, the Thai Criminal Court ruled.

Henry James Kinch, wanted in Australia on 17 counts, was arrested in Thailand May 31, 2008, the Bangkok Post reported Saturday. He had been living in Thailand seven years.

Aside from money laundering, Kinch is accused of smuggling pseudoephedrine, which can be used in making methamphetamine.

The court said that although there is no extradition treaty between Thailand and Australia, there is one between the United Kingdom and Thailand.

After the ruling, Kinch pushed photographers as he left the courtroom, the Post said.

Kinch's lawyer said he would appeal the ruling within 15 days.
