NEW DELHI, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Authorities in northeast India say they are investigating allegations that a doctor forcibly drew blood from a staff member after an argument between the two.
The alleged victim, Anil Kumar, told police the doctor used a syringe to withdraw the blood to teach him a lesson, Gulf News reported Wednesday.
The accused doctor, Dayasagar Arya, a medical officer at a health center in the state of Bihar, denied the allegation.
"I had a heated exchange of words with the staff after which I slapped him but did not take out blood," he said during a news conference Wednesday.
Kumar said Arya locked him in an examination room and another doctor helped while the blood was being drawn.
