5.1-magnitude quake reported off Taiwan

TAIPEI, Taiwan, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- A 5.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded off eastern Taiwan Friday, the country's weather department said. There were no reports of casualties or damage.

The quake, about 4.3 miles deep, was centered off the coast of Hualien County, China's Xinhua news agency reported.
