NOVOROSSIYSK, Russia, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Officials in a Russian city say they are temporarily renaming some of their street names for holiday-themed monikers.

The Novorossiysk mayor's office said the Soviet-era street names are being temporarily swapped for names including Snowman Street, Father Christmas Street, Festive Lights Street, Present Street and Snowflake Street, RIA Novosti reported Thursday.

The office said the streets will return to their original names at the close of the New Year celebrations.
