Marriage is more than sex

Dhaka , Bangladesh, January 18 — Marriage is more than sex was the response of one of my poet friend when I asked her whether marriage was sex. I am a mother and wife too, she said.

Another writer friend in response to whether people should get married said, I prefer living together. There are many minds on marriage. Some oppose it while others prefer it. Let me share the strange truth about marriage with you.

Marriage is not all about sex. It is more than sex. It is a system that sharply shapes world politics and law as tools of religions. Religion never banned marriage but rather promoted it. It however banned sex without marriage and with any other person except ones spouse.

Marriage is all about control and the mind of a male dominated society to dictate to women. If a woman does not want to get married but wishes for a sexual relation with a man, then one cannot ban it. This also applies to men. This makes the relation “open and flexible” and puts it beyond the scope of different conservative institutions like religion.

A child born out of wedlock makes the formal relationship of man and woman complex in society, as the child’s parental identity gets challenged and the chain of social relations that begin with a formal productive marriage are unable to find an appropriate place in the open relationship.

The cycle of social relations, which starts with father, mother, brother, cousin, sister and uncle find no effective space in an open relationship. As a result, some other serious issues get challenged. The first is religion and the state and their notions.

Most religions, especially the Abraham religions are highly centered on the “marriage mystery” and a numbers of fables and divine satanic exposures to express the dominion of the male, while God in these religions is drawn as a male.

The union of divine satanic mystery starts in the Abraham religion with the phenomena of sexual intercourse titled as Satan and Sin. This has in the course of time been titled and legalized with the conservative idea of “marriage.” But the mystery is, without Satan and the sin of sex, God finds himself on an isolated island, where he has no power to promote himself.

An open relationship opens the door to many possibilities. But the conservative marriage institution that is historically filled with restrictions like age, race, sexual orientation, gender and social status place restrictions on marriage in order to benefit children, pass on healthy genes, or simple due to prejudice and fear.

Marriage has successfully created a strong platform with divine satanic prejudice and fear where divine-satanic tendencies and not the person triumph.

This is where a person’s dignity and freedom is curved and society moves towards a cycle of individual digression, where it promotes the pre-engineered cycle that in turn promotes satanic forces. This cycle becomes an economic, religious, social, national and universal dilemma and impacts society.
